- A delicious oats recipe with nutritious lentils.

Delicious and healthy combination of yellow moong dal, oats and a range of indian spices to make a perfect health treat.
Makes 12 tikkis
 

Ingredients
1/2 cup yellow moong dal (split yellow gram)
1/2 cup quick cooking rolled oats
3 tbsp grated onions
2 tbsp curds (dahi)
2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
2 tsp chaat masala
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
salt to taste
1 1/2 tsp oil for cooking

Method
  • Clean, wash and boil the moong dal in 1 cup of water till the dal is soft and cooked and all the water has evaporated.
  • Blend the dal in a mixer to a coarse paste.
  • Transfer it to a bowl and add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  • Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a 2 ½ inch. round flat tikki.
  • Cook each tikki on a non-stich tava (griddle) or skillet using 1/8 tsp of oil till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides.
  • Serve immediately.
